Driving a vehical when it is unfit to be driven can and potentially will damage it. Be this a normal car, a truck or even a fork truck. Any engineer who has worked on a fork truck will know that you should check everything before using the fork truck, not only is this routine procedure but it would also minimise damage as well as help prevent accidents. The fact remains however that operators often either forget, or overlook this fact which then results in a number of issues as a result. So how then to overcome this problem? Protekta is an engine shutdown protection system which works in the following ways. The Protekta system, when fitted, is programed with tolerance levels for oil pressure and engine heat. If the oil pressure or the heat from the engine should fall outside of the set tolerance level the driver is then visually informed by Protekta that the equipment is operating outside of the tolerance levels. Should the operator continue to use the equipment without first rectifying the problem, the Protekta system will then shut down the truck after an appropriate pre-selected time and lock it out until a person in authority has reset the system. Overview: - Monitors critical parameters.
- Visually indicates to the operator if equipment is outside of tolerance levels.
- Automatic shutdown if problem is not rectified.
- Equipment is locked out if a shutdown has occured, to prevent further damage.
- Can only be reset by a person in authority with a special infra-red control unit.
- Additional input is incorporated into the unit to enable a connection with our InfoLOK impact management system.
- Protected in a robust IP67 Rated housing which protects against water and Dust ingress.
Tecnical Specification: Inputs: Oil pressure, Temperature. Default Shutdown Times: Low Oil Pressure or Impact (if used with InfoLOK) 10 Seconds, Overheating is 20 Seconds.
